I started making bongs when I moved to NY because I thought it would be a fun and functional way to learn mixed media art. 
 
However, it's important to acknowledge the gentrification of the weed industry we see today. It’s wild you can walk into a dispensary that feels like Lululemon, while people all around the country are still in prison for weed charges. I really don’t think we talk about it enough. The repercussions of the War on Drugs is very present in modern-day society. 
 
My hope with having a separate smoke shop page is to continue to make cool & functional art while creating space for conversations around this subject.
